2012-04-30 | Elizabeth Black Master MatchmakerSteve Ward is back for another season of Tough Love, and each week, he’ll be giving us an exclusive look at what went down behind the scenes on the series. This week, we talked to Steve about Tiffany‘s surprising progress, and the return of the zapper. I think “Turned Off” was very insightful for the women. Were any of the women truly shocked by how they came across to the men? It was interesting, there were some women who took it very seriously and were very affected by the guys, and there were some women that just didn’t care, so for me, I was getting a sense of who’s really doing the work and taking this seriously, and it was interesting to ...

2012-04-30 | Elizabeth Black Despina admits that she’s always wanted to be on a game show, and this week on Tough Love New Orleans, her dream comes true. Steve has arranged for all the women to be contestants on Turned Off, a game show that’s sweeping the nation, where women admit something about themselves and a panel of men tell them whether it’s a turn-on or a turn-off. Okay maybe this game isn’t quite sweeping the nation just yet. The men respond to what the women say by hitting a red light or a green light (green for turned on, red for turned off), so the women can see just how good or bad their conversation skills are. (“A little arrogant,” says one of the red-lighters.) She conti...

2012-04-24 | Elizabeth Black This week on Tough Love, the ladies were asked to create an online profile. Steve’s advice is to put themselves in the mind of a man reading the profile, rather than just writing about whatever comes to mind. Be honest, but be appealing. Some of the women are having a hard time figuring out what would appeal to a man, and some of them are just oblivious. Donna is tempted to write about her hero, Barbra Streisand.Elizabeth could write a novel about her estrangement from her family. And Despina, describing her ideal date, mentions that it should always end with sex. So of course, after they’ve written profiles like these, the only thing that makes sense for Steve to do is show the profiles to his man panel, who will judge them all. One by one, they evaluate profiles. For Danielle‘s, the first impression is “Love the booty.” “She’s just looking to get f—d,” said one of the gentlemen. Danielle is “presenting” herself in the animal sense, according to these guys...
